obviously, I’ve got traveling on the brain.
as much as it absolutely sucked leaving home and family to immigrate to the US, I’ve always been grateful for the fact that I’ve been able to experience living on opposite ends of the world. I’ve always been aware of the larger world around me and so interested in getting to know all these places, even for just a little bit. when I was younger, I would go to the library and check out 10 or 15 books at a time about countries – Thailand, Austria, Peru, Sweden, you name it, I read up on it. I spent hours getting lost in all the pictures and descriptions of foods I’d never heard of and couldn’t pronounce but wanted so badly to taste.
two truths about traveling: 1) once you get the traveling bug, it’s hard to shake it off; and 2) travel. travel often and travel wide, as much as you can. it will make you a better person in so many ways.
